Military crimes decreased in Azerbaijan

"The number of deaths remained the same as previous year in 2006," said Azerbaijan's Military Prosecutor Khanlar Valiyev.

He said that the number of military crimes fell by 15% to 17% with relation to 2005.

Touching on reported financial frauds in the Azeri troops serving in Iraq as peacekeepers, he denied the information.

"It is a rumour spread by media. But, there is a financial fraud in this military unit. The Prosecutor's Office is probing this problem," he said, APA reports.
