"The number of deaths remained the same as previous year in 2006," said Azerbaijan's Military Prosecutor Khanlar Valiyev.
He said that the number of military crimes fell by 15% to 17% with relation to 2005. Touching on reported financial frauds in the Azeri troops serving in Iraq as peacekeepers, he denied the information. "It is a rumour spread by media. But, there is a financial fraud in this military unit. The Prosecutor's Office is probing this problem," he said, APA reports.
