Meeting of Milli Majlis Social Policy Permanent Commission

28 December 2006 [12:16] - TODAY.AZ
Meeting of Milli Majlis Social Policy Permanent Commission was held on Wednesday.

The draft law about the social adaptation of the prisoners released from penitentiary detention wards was discussed in the meeting.

The member of the commission Elmira Akhundova noted that nearly 2000 to 4000 prisoners are released from the detention wards every year. Approximately 100-150 of them are arrested again. The broken relations with family members and isolation from the society play role in these situations.

"The important issues are to give necessary documents to the released prisoners, to involve them to the education, to better their welfare standards, to provide them with jobs and some others," she said.

The chief of the commission Hadi Rajabli told that the adaptation of the women and children are regulated on separate articles. If the released woman has a 14-year-old child, she should be provided with job and house. The children has no parent should be send to boarding-schools. It was decided to discuss the document again after improvement, APA reports.
