The Education Ministry began inspections in Baku State University, State Economic University and Azerbaijan University of Languages concerning student transfer.

Education Minister Misir Mardanov told the APA the inspections are going on at the moment and will have been finished by the end of the year. Those who are responsible for student transfer in the universities are expected to be punished at the end of the inspections.

"The universities where there is a great deal of illegal student transfer will be punished. Depending on the results of the inspections teachers may be reprimanded even dismissed. The strictest punishments are expected," he said.

Misir Mardanov said that compared with previous years student transfer in the universities has decreased. "We have minimized student transfer. But I can not say concrete figure. The process is going on. We will hold board at the end of the year and elucidate the official data," the minister said.
