The President pointed out the importance of the fact that Baku had been chosen as a place for conducting the Fourth Congress of CIS Oncologists and Radiologists that he said serves expanding humanitarian cooperation among the member-states of the Commonwealth.
The Azeri leader also pointed to the progress achieved in Azerbaijan in various fields of life including healthcare.
Academician Mikhail Davidov, Director of the Blokhin Russian Oncology Center, President of the country's Academy of Medical Sciences, speaking on behalf of the delegation stressed the particular importance of the Congress, APA reports.
He thanked President Aliyev for the support in organizing of the event. He added Azerbaijan is the only country among the former Soviet republics to have two cancer specialists awarded the honorary title of Academician.
