88th anniversary of Baku liberation

The 88th anniversary of the liberation of the Azerbaijani capital, Baku from Russian and Armenian invasion by the help of the Turkish Caucasus Islamic Army has been marked.

Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan, Turkish businessmen in Azerbaijan and public representatives visited the memorial for Turkish martyrs and Martyrs Alley. Turkish ambassador Turan Morali said Turkey has sense of duty to always support brotherly Azerbaijan.

"Azerbaijan gained independence in 1918, and Turkey was the first country to help it. Turkey makes efforts for ensuring Azerbaijan's territorial integrity," the ambassador underlined.

After the ceremony, the participants held a round table on the role of Turkish soldiers in the liberation of Baku.

Parliamentarian Nizami Jafarov said that Azerbaijanis will never forget Turkish martyrs.
Then historians talked about the history of Turkey-Azerbaijan relations and importance of this cooperation.

Murad Basheskioglu, Turkish Labor and Social Security Minister also attended the meeting, APA informs.
