The university demanded the students to attend lessons from 15 September. However, the students decided not to attend.
"The Education Ministry promised to transfer the third-year students to other private higher schools by September 15, but it did not keep its promise. The students will start hunger strike on 16 September if their demands are not satisfied. We wanted to go on hunger strike in the university building again. But the authorities did not allow. We'll appeal for political parties and NGOs for ensuring a place for us for the action," member of the Committee to Defend Students' Rights Khalid Garayev told the APA.
The dissatisfied students will also stage protest actions outside the Education Ministry and the university.
After the Ministry's decision, some of the university students have been transferred to other higher schools. The Ministry refused to transfer the students, who entered in 2004, to transfer to other universities claiming they have entered illegally.
