American scientist launches website on ashugh art

Ann Shenarslan, scientist of the State University of Wisconsin, residing in Madisson city of US Wisconsin State arrived in Baku, Azerbaijan, Ashughs' Union of Azerbaijan said.

She writes doctoral thesis titled "Women-Ashughs of Azerbaijan" devoted to Azerbaijani ashugh art.

Mrs. Shenerslan visited the regions, where Azerbaijani ashugh art is spread to meet with ashughs (wandering minstrel) and gather rich information on ashughs-coryphaeus.

She is going to open the website on Azerbaijani ashughs. Information about ancient folk art, masters of folklore and ashugh schools will be available here.
