Azerbaijani Guantanamo detainee moved to ICRC rehabilitation center

17 June 2006 [08:47] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijani citizen Polad Sirajov, who has long been held in the Guantanamo detention camp facing the charge of collaborating with al-Gaida terrorist organization, has been moved to the rehabilitation center of the International Committee of The Red Cross (ICRC).

As APA reports, Polad Sirajov was moved to a rehabilitation center of the detention camp. Behbudov said he will be released in two or three days.

As coming to his extradition, the rights defender said it has not been decided to what country Sirajov will be extradited. The detainee appealed to the prison authorities for not being extradited to Azerbaijan and Russia.

The ICRC will deal with the issue of his extradition to another country. However, the Committee considers it unadvisable to make public the country.
