Istanbul fire injures six Azerbaijanis

A strong fire broke out in Sariyer, Istanbul in Turkey at about 1:30 by local time last night.

The fire burning in the three-storey building spread to the five apartments around in a short time injuring six Azerbaijani residents of the apartments, who are in Istanbul to work. The cause of the fire has not yet been found out.

The injured Azerbaijanis Murtuz Huseynli, Vilayet Huseynli, Siyavush Ahmad, Elmaddin Huseynov, Bahruz Huseynov and Elkhan Huseynov. The workers were in bed when the fire broke out. So, seeing that they cannot leave the apartment, they threw themselves out of the third floor. One broke his leg and some were poisoned from smoke. The injured hospitalized in Sariyer Ismayil Agghun State Hospital are in better condition now.

Azerbaijani consul-general in Istanbul Ibrahim Nabioghlu told APA that five of them have been released. The one having an injury on his leg is being treated at the hospital. He will be released in a day or two.
