Flood danger in Salyan has been averted

"Effective preventive measures have been held related to the increase of water level in the Kyur River for several days," Azerbaijani Emergency Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov told journalists.

According to APA, the Minister said basing on the report that the water level decreased 14 cm in the Kyur.

"The danger has been averted. This might have caused more serious problems if the precautions were not held on time. The waters are being cleared by pumps in the yards. I think we'll be able to solve this problem within a year. Two ships of the Caspian Shipping Company are in the site now. Russian Emergencies Ministry Oceanology Institute specialists have been on the site since last week. This problem appears annually as result of the flooding in the Kyur in spring and summer. It think this problem should be solved once and for all. Houses are destroyed and people suffer damages by floods every year. A lot of electric energy is spent to pumping of waters which cause damage for people and the state," the Minister said.
