Anti-Corruption Legal Advocacy Centers to highlight successes of 2006

Transparency International, in close cooperation with ABA/CEELI, will present its latest quarterly report and discuss recent successes at the Anti Corruption Legal Advocacy Center in Ganja on Friday, May 12, 2006 at 4.00 pm.

Public Affairs Office of the US Embassy in Azerbaijan has informed APA that all media representatives are invited to attend this event. The center in Ganja is one of two Anti-Corruption Centers that have been funded by the U.S.

Agency for International Development (USAID), the other is located in Baku. The Anti Corruption Centers are operated by Transparency International, in close cooperation with ABA/CEELI, and are intended to support the Azerbaijani government anti-corruption efforts.

The Anti Corruption Legal Advocacy Centers operate hotlines, receive corruption-related complaints, and provide free legal advice to all Azerbaijanis. These Centers are unique in the Commonwealth of Independent States.
