Armenians exploit mineral deposits of occupied territories

Armenians are illegally exploiting 155 kinds of various mineral deposits at the occupied Azerbaijani territories.

As APA reports, five of them are gold deposits, six quicksilver beds, two copper beds, one lead-ore and zinc-ore deposit, nineteen facing stones, four cement slabs, thirteen different kinds of building stones, one deposit for soda production, twenty-one pumice-stones and volcano ashes , ten clayey deposits, nine sand-gravel beds, five building sand, nine gypsum, anhydride, one pearlite, one obsidian, three vermiculite, fourteen bright and jewels, eleven drinkable subsoil waters and ten are mineral water beds.

Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry told that Azerbaijani rich natural resources, rare flora and fauna, including nut, oak ad other rare tree species in its occupied territories are being exploited by Armenians.

It is reported that there remained 247352 hectares of forest in Azerbaijan territories under Armenian occupation, which is 55% more than the entire forests in Armenia.

The Ishigli Garagol river situated between Azerbaijan occupied region of Lachin and Armenia’s region of Gorus has suffered man-made pollution most of all. Armenians have settled around the lake and it is used for irrigation (big pumping stations have been installed) which resulted in pollution of the lake. In general, seven relict lakes - the Great Alaghol, Small Alaghol, Zalkhaghol, Garaghol, Janlighol, Bright Alaghol in Kalbajar and Lachin and the Garaghol lake in Aghdere region still remain under Armenian occupation.
