15 April 2006 [10:15] - TODAY.AZ
The Moscow court held a preparatory session related to the assassination attempt against Soyun Sadighov, President of AZERROS Federal National-Cultural Autonomy of Russian Azerbaijanis.

As APA reports, the court accepted the petition of the lawyers for the case to be tried by jury. The jury members will be elected April 25. But the judge dismissed the petition for releasing the accused by the obligation of not leaving the city. The judge said that he is not sure whether Valeri Jak (director of "Russia" concert hall), who ordered the assassination, will not escape, will not put pressure on the witnesses, if he's released.

Gismet Azimov, lawyer for Soyun Sadighov said the crimes of the accused have been proved by the investigation, and expressed hope that the court will pass fair verdict.

General producer of "Russia" concert hall Valeri Jak was interrogated as organizer of the assassination against Soyun Sadigov.

As a result of investigation, Moscow Prosecutor's Office found out that Valeri Jak, who lived in Lavrushenko turning 17/5 came into conflict with Soyun Sadighov due to property issue.

Valeri Jak ordered his close mate Danilov to kill Sadighov instead of solving the dispute through court. He promised to pay $25.000 to Danilov for killing. In his testimony, Danilov said that he'd involved Sergei Koryakovski into this crime.
Koryakovski and Danilov came to Sadigov's office on March 18 last year and fired at Sadighov while he was coming up to the office.

Soyun Sadighov was not wounded. However, Mikhail Zuev, who was also in the car, was wounded on his shoulder and head.
