Special Treatment Center for thalassemia patients to be built

Health Minister Ogtay Shireliyev met with parents of thalassemia patients in the Hematology Institute.

As APA reports, the parents complained of unsuitable conditions for blood transfusion, lack of blood and other problems. The Minister solved some problems immediately.

Mr. Shireliyev told the parents that the Ministry had prepared several state programs to improve treatment of thalassemia patients in the past four months. These programs were submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers. Two programs are for thalassemia and hemophilia patents. Plan of measures is drawn up to implement these programs.

The Minister also said that he had ordered purchasing PSR apparatus, reactive apparatuses as well. He added that a Special Treatment Center for thalassemia patients would be built by the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in a short period of time.

Shireliyev recommended the parents of thalassemia patents to present their problems in written form.
