There are 15, 000 hectares of oil-polluted lands in Absheron

5 programs are being prepared to re-cultivate the polluted lands.

Re-cultivation of the polluted lands project has also been included into the packet of documents that the Minister submitted to the World Bank. Previously the bank has plans to allocate $15-20 m for these purposes. However, now larger resources are definitely needed.

Some of the Bibi-Eybat oil field lands will be included into the project. Land cleaning operations and building of a huge complex are expected to be done in that area.

The Ministry together with some NGOs is planning to launch strict monitoring of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline project, Trend reports.
