Solar eclipse causes seismological tension in the region

A solar eclipse will be visible today. The total eclipse of the sun will be visible in Antalia, Turkey. Astrophysicists worldwide will arrive in Antalia to observe this important event.

"You know that global changes happen in the earth after solar eclipse. The recent tensions in local zone of the earth are related to this fact," Deputy Director of the Seismological Service Center of Azerbaijan National Academy of Science, professor Gurban Yetirmishli informed.

The professor said that seismological activeness is occurring in Turkey, Iran and in the Himalaya now.

Yetirmishli said that geophysical parameters of the earth are changing due to solar activeness. He also stressed such cases happen in global level sometimes. Referring to the 1999 September, earthquake in Turkey after the solar eclipse, the professor stressed people should not panic in such situations, Trend reports.
