Transport Minister: "Mayor's Office doesn't provide us with information on technical passports of routes"

"Mayor's Office Transport Department is due to provide the Ministry with information on taxi and bus stops, and their routes - the technical passports. However, they are not submitted yet," Azerbaijan Transportation Minister Ziya Mammedov told Trend.

In spite of that fact licensing of transport activities continues. Special parking areas for taxi have to be constructed and quality of transport services has to be increased.

Many buses and taxi do not meet the existing technical norms, he said. Application of the licensing system will help to reduce cases of tax evasion by the transport owners and increase the safety of transport.
