Azerbaijani ex-Minister of Health undergoes surgery

Azerbaijani ex-Health Minister Ali Insanov, who is detained in Boyukshor Treatment Center of the Main Office for Execution of Court Decisions (MOECD), will undergo a medical surgery.

Toghrul Babayev, lawyer of the former minister, told APA that Ali Insanov has a hernia in his vertebral column and he needs an urgent surgery.

"He is being prepared for a surgery. But we do not have any information about the its venue and time," the lawyer said.

Babayev refuted the information on Insanov's being affected by tuberculosis.

The ex-minister suddenly felt bad in the jail ward of the National Security Ministry on 25 February and was taken to the Treatment Center. Insanov has applied to President Ilham Aliyev for substitution of arrest measure on him.
