SOCAR says no gas shortage this winter

The Azerigas Production Association of Azerbaijani State Oil Company (SOCAR) is making preparations for the autumn-winter season in Azerbaijan as part of the developed action plan, the Production Association told on Tuesday.

Azerigas Production Association is engaged in the distribution and sale of gas to Azerbaijani consumers.

"An action plan was prepared as part of the preparations for the winter period and in accordance work is being carried out," the Production Association noted.

Work on repairing oil pipelines and construction of new ones, as well as calibration of gas equipment and other work continue, Azerigas said.

Concerning the time for transition to the winter rates of gas deliveries to the distribution network, Azerigas noted that this will depend on weather conditions and there will be no problems in providing consumers with gas during the cold period of the year.

SOCAR includes Azneft (onshore and offshore oil and gas production), Azerkimya (chemical industry) and the Azerigas (gas distribution) production associations, as well as a number of processing and service enterprises and institutions engaged in geophysical and drilling operations.
