Commuter trains to be brought back to Baku outskirts

Commuter trains will be restored to Baku suburban settlements, Head of the International Relations & Information of the State Committee for Urban Planning & Architecture of Azerbaijan Jahangir Gojayev told.

According to him, number of railroad rails in Baku Railway Station is planned to be reduced: “We plan to use this station for commuter and special trains in the future. There was such station in Baku before and we plan to restore it”.

The commuter trains will move to Baku and Baku suburban settlements as before. Movement of trains was stopped some years ago.

Note that it is also planned operation of surface metro buses in Baku.

In this regard, Gojayev noted that it will be possible after development of comprehensive plan of concrete areas.
