43 habitations gasified in Azerbaijan in Q1

In the first quarter of 2013, the Azerigaz Production Association (PO) of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) gasified 43 settlements, according to a statement posted Friday on the PO's official website.

According to the statement, some 45,279 new consumers from population's category were provided with gas in January-March, of which 35,625 consumers reside in regions, and 9,654 - in Baku.
Some 173,794 gas meters were installed or replaced in the first quarter, of which 117,206 are smart-card based counters.

2,938.6 kilometers of new pipes were laid in January-March. In turn, the overhaul was carried over the pipelines with a 903.18 kilometers length.

The Azerigaz Production Association deals with the distribution and sale of natural gas in Azerbaijan.
