CEC chairman sits down with U.S. ambassador

Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov has today met U.S. Ambassador Richard Morningstar.
According to the CEC, the U.S. Ambassador expressed gratitude for mutually beneficial cooperation between the U.S. Embassy and the Central Election Commission.

Mazahir Panahov stressed that Azerbaijan is the strategic partner of the U.S. He also underlined that the position of both sides on democracy is similar. CEC chairman gave detailed information about the works for improvement of election process in Azerbaijan and about international cooperation.

They also discussed prospects of cooperation between CEC of Azerbaijan and the U.S. Embassy.
