The Ministry of Transport of Azerbaijan has begun since 3 October raids on the Baku roads associated with maintaining order on public transport.
Head of the Ministry’s press service Namig Hasanov has said that raids will be used to study the quality of work of Baku buses and taxis and eliminate the existing problems.
"Raids will be conducted in all parts of the capital, and their main purpose is to improve the quality of services provided in the metropolitan public transport," Hasanov said.
Raids in Baku are conducted in connection with an increase in traffic accidents involving metropolitan buses, most of which occur as a result of violations of traffic and safety rules by bus drivers.
