Underwater seismic stations to be installed in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea have been delivered to the country. The spokesperson for the Republic’s Seismologist Centre Service of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Vusala Rafiggizi told APA. She said that RSCS has already received the seabed stations from the US. The platforms where the station will be installed are being technologically studied.
Azerbaijani side and the US “Kinemetrics” company had signed the agreement on the installation of the underwater seismic stations in 2011. The stations will be installed on “Umid”, “Guneshly” and “Bahar” oilfields. Azerbaijani is the first country in the CIS region to realize such a project.
