
Humanitarian aid from Azerbaijan sent to the disaster zone in the Iranian province of East Azerbaijan has been distributed to victims of an earthquake, head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society of Bilasuvar Gurbanali Farahmand said, the official website of Iranian television iribnews reported on Friday.
Humanitarian aid delivered by the motorcade of 25 vehicles, was transferred to the Red Crescent Society of Iran in the Iranian city of Bilasuvar, from where it was sent to the quake zone, Farahmand said.
Humanitarian aid includes 3,000 blankets, 1,000 sleeping kits, 460 tents, 40 tons of flour, 20 tons of rice, 9 tons of tea, 10 tons of sugar, 19 tons of oil, 10 tons of pasta, as well as juices, water and other essential foods.
On August 11, a 6.2-magnitude earthquake rocked Iran's East Azerbaijan Province, killing more than 300 people and injuring about 2,500.
