'Brotherhood mosque' to be built in Baku

A mosque is planned to be built in the capital of Azerbaijan and it will be the symbol of the Azerbaijani and Turkish friendship, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Elshad Iskandarov told journalists, APA reports.

According to him, the idea of “brotherhood mosque”, which will be the symbol of the friendship between Azerbaijan and Turkey and also two fraternal nations, belongs to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev: “This idea has been discussed with the Turkish side. The place for construction of the mosque has been allocated by the order of the President. The mosque will be built at the expense of Azerbaijan and it will be a present of the Azerbaijani President to the Turkish people. Currently the technical details of the mosque are being developed. The construction of the mosque will start after its coordination between the two sides. ”
