The "green wave" regime will operate for traffic lights during "Eurovision 2012" in Baku, General Director of the Intellectual Transport Management Center Elnur Abdullayev told media today.
He said that the "green wave" system will be applied to ensure free passage of VIP guests and delegations.
"Green Wave" is an automatic control system for traffic signals that ensures the safe movement of vehicles over major city streets.
At present, the "green wave" has been already used on the main streets of the capital. It allows establishing the relation between traffic lights.
The intellectual transport management system costing more than $ 95 million was launched in December last year.
After launching all three phases, the system will be controlled from the center of Baku.
The system envisaged the installation of 664 units of information terminals and 48 units of the placards which were placed on the streets of Baku. It was planned to create about 639 sites for the buses, about 140 sites for taxi within the system.
