Address information will be displayed in the form of code in the ID cards of the Azerbaijani citizens, Director of the Azerbaijani State Property Committee's Technical Inventory and Cadastre Center Ramiz Guliyev said.
“New ID cards will differ, as address information will be displayed in e- form. Instead, codes will be shown instead of the street names,” he said. As part of the project on creation of the address register, numbers will be assigned to every street, every entrance to the objects in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan will introduce new ID cards from Jan.1, 2014. The identity card will be valid for a period of 10 years. For those over 54, it will be issued in perpetuity.
A unique identification number and picture corresponding to the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) will be available on the ID card along with other information. An electronic media (chip) will be placed in the ID card.
The card should be changed in the case of termination of an identity card or in the case of change of name, middle initial and last name of a citizen, as well as in the case when the ID, including its electronic media, came into disrepair.
Identity cards issued before the January 1, 2014, shall remain in force until 25, 35, 50 years or until the change in name, surname, patronymic citizen, marital status, military service, as well as to loss, ineligibility, or detecting errors in the information contained in the certificate.
