Azerbaijan to face 'cold days'

The National Hydrometeorology Department of the Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry reported that preponderance of cloudy weather is predicted in Baku and Absheron peninsula on Jan.18.  

The weather is expected to be mostly rainless during the daytime, but rain is forecast in some parts of Absheron peninsula in the evening nonetheless. Temperate north-western wind will blow, will strengthen in the afternoon.  The temperature is expected to be +1-3˚C at night, +5-7˚C in the afternoon.

In the country’s regions, the weather is predicted to be rainy off and on. Sleet is expected in some places along with snow in the mountainous and foothills regions. Intermittently strengthening western wind will blow. The temperature will be -1˚C to +4˚C at night, +5-10˚C in the afternoon, -2-7˚C in the mountains at night, and 0-5˚C in the afternoon. The minimum temperature in the high mountainous areas is forecast to be -10-15˚C.

The temperature is predicted to decrease 5-8 ˚C in relation to the previous days in Baku and Absheron peninsula as a result of the intensification of north-western wind, intermittently rainy on January 18 evening, while cold on January 21. Strong north-western wind will blow.
