Iran reduces ties with UK

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has today signed a law reducing relations with UK, Fars news agency reported.

The law to reduce diplomatic relations between the two countries to the charge d'affaires level was passed by Iran's Parliament (Majlis) on Nov. 20 and was sent to the president on Nov. 29. Iranian law stipulates the president has 5 days to order its execution and Mr. Ahmadinjead notified Iran's Foreign Ministry on Wednesday. Two days after the law was passed, a group of protesters attacked the British Embassy. Iranian and UK embassies were closed.
