Construction of BTC`s Turkish section underway

70 percent of 100 mln YTL allotted for the Turkish section of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline project for current year have been already spent.

Informing about this at the meeting of the Coordination Council in Turkish city Kars, Yashar Unlu, head of the Turkish section, said about 1200 people are working at the construction. The 10 km long tunnels are under intensive construction. According to him, BTC`s Georgia section are mainly tunnels. In the territory of Turkey, there are another two tunnels –SENGER-1 and SENGER-2 of 3 km length.

Current year the construction works will need extra allocations, Yashar Unlu underlined.

The meeting participants have also discussed accrued problems the constructors face in the term of electricity and other maintenance.
