Iran intends to enter world market of nuclear technologies

14 March 2011 [13:24] - TODAY.AZ
The newly appointed head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization Fereydoun Abbasi said that the Islamic Republic expands its activity in the field of nuclear technologies and materials and firmly intends to take its place on the world market, IRNA agency reported.

Abbasi said that delivering of nuclear technologies and services to the world market fully meets the interests of Iran.

But he has not specified what he means while speaking about nuclear materials and technologies.

According to the resolutions of the UN Security Council, all the countries are prohibited to transfer nuclear technologies, materials or to render services in this area to Iran.

The U.N. Security Council adopted six resolutions over suspension of Iran's nuclear program. Four involve the use of economic and some political sanctions on Iran.

The U.S. and other Western countries accuse Iran of developing nuclear weapons under cover of peaceful nuclear energy program. Tehran denies the accusation, saying its nuclear program is peaceful.
