Turkey, Greece cooperate in UAE construction project

Turkish and Greek companies undertook the infrastructure project of a military airport which will be built in Al Ain city of United Arab Emirates.

Turkish Arma-Elektropanc (AE) and Greek Athena companies will jointly fulfill the project on hangar, apron and infrastructure of the airport.

The MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) of the airport will be made by Turkish company which is the technical contractor. The contract price of the MEP is nearly 16 million USD. AE's contracting size in UAE reached 210 million USD with this contract.

AE's Executive Board Chairman Kemal Kizilhan said that the company was carrying out projects in many countries in Asia, Europe and African continents, adding that they targeted to sign new contracts worth of 250 million USD in UAE in 2011.

Noting that Greek Athena company had been in construction business since 1960, Kizilhan said that Athena was making business in many geographies including Greece, Balkans and the Middle East.

Kizilhan said that AE would continue partnership with Athena in the region and other geographies.
