Turkey lacks gas debts

29 June 2012 [19:45] - TODAY.AZ
Turkey has fulfilled all its obligations under gas contracts signed on a "take-or-pay" principle, Anadolu news agency quotes Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister, Taner Yildiz as saying on Friday.

"Ankara has no debts to Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia for import of energy resources," Yildiz said.

According to statistic data of the Turkish State Pipeline Company Botas, in 2011 Turkey imported 39.7 billion cubic meters of gas. Russia ranks first among countries exporting gas to Turkey. The country is followed by Iran and Azerbaijan.
