Iran is optimistic about nuclear talks

15 May 2012 [13:08] - TODAY.AZ
Senior Iranian lawmaker Alaeddin Boroujerdi says agreements reached by Iran and the P5+1 in Istanbul, Turkey, constitute the basis of the upcoming talks between the negotiating parties in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad

“Anything outside this framework will not be accepted by Iran,” the chairman of Iran's Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee said on Monday.

Boroujerdi also said that Iran has held talks with some of the countries concerned before the Baghdad talks.

The first round of the latest talks between Iran and the P5+1 (Britain, France, Russia, China and the United States plus Germany) was held on April 14 in the Turkish city of Istanbul, and both sides hailed the negotiations as constructive.

The next round of the talks will be held on May 23 in Baghdad.
