'Georgia , Czech deepen the relations'

Chairman of the Georgian Parliament David Bakradze and President of the Czech Senate Milan Stech opened a Georgian-Czech business forum in Tbilisi.

The forum is attended by representatives of 20 Czech companies operating in the distribution of agricultural products, construction, energy and financial sector. Their goal is to find in Georgia business partners and establish business contacts with them.

The business forum is organized by the National Investment Agency and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Georgia.

Economic relations between Georgia and the Czech Republic are deepening. According to data for 2011, trade turnover between the countries increased by five percent and amounted to more than $ 100 million. The volume of Czech investments in the economy of Georgia is $ 350 million.

David Bakradze told reporters before the opening of the forum that each such event allows to arouse in foreign investors' interest in the benefits of the Georgian economy.

"Relations between Georgia and the Czech Republic are developing positively, and went beyond the political framework. Countries have moved to the economic and business cooperation. This gives us the opportunity to create additional jobs and provide work for people," Bakradze said.

The Czech delegation headed by the president of the Senate arrived in Georgia on a two-day visit on April 22. The delegation includes representatives of Czech business circles. Bilateral meetings of Georgian and Czech businessmen will be held during the forum.
