Georgia, Turkey will build mosques and restore churches

The Georgian side agreed to allot the site for the construction of a new mosque, Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Ertugrul Gunay said at a meeting with Georgian Minister of Culture Nika Rurua in Ankara.

"Georgia and Turkey have close political and economic relations," Gunay said. "We want to intensify the cooperation in the sphere of tourism and culture. There are cultural monuments in both countries. The negotiations were held on their restoration. Today we came to a particular result. The Georgian side is willing to allot a place where we will build a new mosque Azizei. We agreed with minister that Ahmedia complex will be restored in Akhaltsikhe. The work will be ensured by the Georgian side with the participation of Turkish experts."

Turkey undertakes a commitment to restore Oshki and Ishkhani monuments under the supervision and participation of Georgian specialists.
