Georgia, Turkey to sign energy agreement

Georgia and Turkey will sign an agreement on transboundary electricity trade. As Georgian Energy and Natural Resources Ministry told Trend, the agreement will be signed in the Akhaltsikhe district (South Georgia) by energy and natural resources ministers of Georgia and Turkey Alexander Khetaguri and Taner Yildiz on Friday.

The ceremony will take place at the site of construction of 400-kilowatt electricity transmission line Borchkha-Akhaltsikhe on the Georgian-Turkish border. Mainly, through this electricity transmission line, Georgia will export electricity to Turkey.
