Romania is ready to provide support and assistance to Azerbaijan in the process of integration into the European Union to avoid certain errors, since integration is a complicated process, Romanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan and Head of NATO representation in Azerbaijan Nikolae Ureke said on Friday at the Center for Strategic Studies under the Azerbaijani President in the framework of regularly scheduled meetings with the ambassadors.
The event focused on the NATO- Azerbaijan cooperation, the new strategic concept of NATO and its role in security operations in Afghanistan, as well as the role of Romania in the process of updating the Alliance's strategy.
"The process of updating the new strategy concept of NATO includes the development of cooperation with countries of the Caspian region, and Azerbaijan is a very important partner of NATO," Ureke said.
During the meeting, Ureke noted that one of the pillars of the new strategy would be to strengthen partnership and cooperation between the allies and institutions like UN, EU and OSCE.
