Azerbaijani President offers condolences to Portuguese counterpart

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has sent a letter of condolence to President of Portugal Anibal Cavaco Silva over the loss of lives caused by floods in Madeira Island.

The letter reads: “The news of a human loss as the result of the floods in Madeira Island was a source of great sorrow to me. On behalf of the people of Azerbaijan and on my own behalf, I offer sincere condolences to you, families and relatives of the dead and all the people of Portugal and wish the injured speedy recovery.”
