We are like provincial folks among strong and experienced players, Armenian parliament’s Heritage faction chief Larisa Alaverdyan said while commenting on Armenian president’s statement that he will not visit Turkey to watch return match between two countries’ football teams until Armenia-Turkey border is opened and Armenia’s blockade is lifted.

“This statement is a sign of unskilful foreign policy. First, a sharp embrace and then an equally sharp reverse. This is unbalanced foreign policy. Indeed, we do not have policy. We have no long-term forward-looking political doctrine.”
“People involved in politics lack “taste”of management. There is a desire to act but there is no desire to think and to handle a lot of information. We do not have scrupulous politicians, unfortunately,” she said.
“We look like provincial folks among strong and experienced players. But we must realize that we are doomed to have a role in the region, whether want it or not. This game requires trained personnel. We can not do without special institutions to train such professionals.” she said.
“We, on the one hand, have an absolute shortage of people capable of addressing serious issues in politics, but on the other, the reluctance of the authorities not to produce qualitatively new stuff,”
