Georgia’s hopes for NATO membership almost dead: president

Georgian president Mikhail Saakasvili says his country will not able to be admitted to NATO and return Abkhazia and South Ossetia any time soon.
Saakashvili said in his interview with The Wall Street Journal that Georgia’s hopes for NATO membership are “almost dead.”

Georgian president said the country will hardly be able to achieve the three major targets, which includes accession NATO and EU and return of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, any time soon.

The Wall Street Journal said these thesis will also be included at a speech that the Georgian president will make on July 20. In addition, he is expected to disclose some domestic policy initiatives aimed at improving situation in the country.
