Azerbaijan expects concrete steps from the European countries in regulating Internet-media, Head of the Public-Political Department of the Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov said at the conference on "Regulating Internet-media in Azerbaijan", organized by the Council of Europe (CE) and the Azerbaijan National Television and Radio Council.
"Azerbaijan will also take relevant measures, when the European countries take concrete steps in this field. The information society plays a serious role in country's foreign and interior policy," Hasanov said.

"Several years ago, we wanted to establish the relevant body to supervise over the Internet in Azerbaijan," the head of the department said. "But at that time, we underwent criticism and established only the National Television and Radio Council. Internet-media can entail the whole society. It is enough to remember the reports in the Armenian electronic media which could make Turkey and Azerbaijan enemies," Hasanov said.
