Macaroni and smack-diplomacy. What is it anyway?

In big politics, every handshake counts. Macron has his own, uh, style - kissing instead of hands. The French president has recently preferred to act with his lips, in the spirit of diplomacy à la française.

The crowning achievement of diplomacy in French remains the Normandy 2019 Summit, where Macron kissed everyone as if it were not a negotiation, but a family wedding. Recently, at the Olympics, he caused a scandal by kissing his own Minister of Sports, Amelie Udea-Koster. The story was hushed up, but that didn't stop Macron.

The other day, after a meeting of the "coalition of the willing" in Kiev, Macron hugged Zelensky, for some reason kissed him on the cheek and went to the car. Judging by Zelensky's face, even he himself was in shock.
