Leader of Armenian National Congress: Sargsyan-Aliyev meeting in St.Petersburg may open a new, undesirable for Armenia page in the Karabakh settlement

30 May 2009 [09:35] - TODAY.AZ
Sargsyan-Aliyev meeting in St.Petersburg may open a new, undesirable for Armenia page in the Karabakh settlement, the leader of Armenian National Congress Levon Ter-Petrosyan said at the rally dedicated to ending of the electoral campaign on Yerevan mayor election.
'The probability that over the meeting pressure will be imposed upon the parties to the talks and they will be simply forced to peace, is quite big. Statement of Russian ex-co-chair of the OSCE MG Vladimir Kazimirov is evidence of this', - he said.

According to Ter-Petrosyan, in case of Karabakh, it will be restricted to application of the Dayton model of settlement, which was used with respect to Bosnian Serbs. He pointed out that despite his resignation, Kazimirov remains one of the designers of the Kremlin policy, and in this context his statements are not accidental.

"If Moscow and Washington come to agreement, the Dayton model will be inevitable, and such agreement is quite possible during the US president's visit to Russia in June. Karabakh is not the problem to become the stumbling block for these two super-powers and Serzh Sargsyan will have to seriously think of this",- Ter-Petrosyan concluded.
