Azerbaijani human rights activists to discuss outcomes of pardon act with PACE co-rapporteurs

In the framework of the visit to Azerbaijan co-rapporteurs of the PACE monitoring committee on Azerbaijan Andres Herkel and Eugenia Zhivkova will hold meetings with local human rights activists, said member of the monitoring group of the human rights organizations of Azerbaijan Saida Gojamanly.

"Last we met with the co-rapporteurs in Strasbourg during the PACE January session. Therefore, we will discuss results of amnesty and referendum, issues of appointing a special rapporteur of PACE on Azerbaijan. Also we are planning to discuss the development of democratic institutions in Azerbaijan and fulfillment of duties assumed by Azerbaijan in the sphere of human rights before the Council of Europe in 2001", said she.

According to Gojamanly, Azerbaijani human rights activists are planning to take part in the PACE spring session.
