Azerbaijan, Russia hold consultations between foreign ministries

The Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and Russia held consultations on consulate issues.
According to the press service for the Azerbaijani Foreign ministry, during the talks the sides discussed the situation on observation of rights of citizens, residing in Azerbaijan and Russia, settlement of problems and difficulties, facing them, especially the situation around the citizens of Azerbaijan, residing in Russia and murders of Azerbaijanis in Russia.

The sides also discussed problems, emerging while deportation of illegal migrants of Azerbaijan from Russia, conditions the citizens are held during deportation, mechanisms of consideration of claims, received from the deported persons, migration problems and issues of readmission.

The chairmanship of the Azerbaijani delegation was headed by chief of the consulate department of the Foreign Ministry, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary Nadir Huseynov. The Russian delegation was headed by ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary Lev Pauzin.

The consultations from both sides were also attended by representatives of the Ministries of Interior, Justice, Labor and Social protection of the population, frontier, migration and customs services.

By results of the talks the sides signed a protocol of intentions, previous Azerbaijani-Russian talks on the level of Foreign Ministries on consulate issues were held in Moscow on January 30-31 of 2007.
