Analyzing the implications of the Russian-Georgian confrontation and Moscow's actions after the war with Georgia, head of the Center of Political Innovations and Technologies Mubariz Ahmedoghlu came to a conclusion that CIS has no future, according to Novosti-Azerbaijan.
"If in the first years of creation of this international organization people spoke of accession of Serbia and some other Eastern European states to CIS, not after Georgia left the organization, the expediency of preserving the commonwealth is challenged.
Ahmedoghlu also questioned the leading role of Russia in the CIS.
"Moscow was not able to raise the issue of recognition of independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia by the CIS members either at the last summit of the heads of the CIS states or at the meeting of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Cooperation and CSTO, as it knew that none of the state will recognize these former Georgian autonomies", said he.
