The founding session of the Popular-Socialist Party of Azerbaijan was held in Baku on Monday.

According to Day.Az, Rovshan Huseynov was elected the party chairman at the session.
Moreover, 25 people were elected to the Supreme Medjlis and 5 to the control-revision commission.
In the interview to Day.Az, Rovshan Huseynov noted that the party sets the task to create a society on the basis of social justice.
"We have also considered the issue of the upcoming presidential elections in Azerbaijan. The party decided not to take part in this process in any format. The party activists are free in their choice.
At the same time, we hope that we will take an active part at the next elections", noted he.
The session was attended by head of the Russian community of Azerbaijan, Milli Medjlis deputy Mikhail Zabelin, chairman of the Liberal-Democratic Party of Azerbaijan Fuad Aliyev, political scientist Zardusht Alizade, chairman of the Socialist party of Azerbaijan Rustam Shahsuvarov, as well as representatives of the World Azerbaijanis Congress.
It should be noted that the session involved 85 delegates from 26 regional organizations of the party.
